About the Book:
Qualitative Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is an essential aspect
for all round development of the child. It is an important provision for the
successful implementation of Right to Education (RTE). This book “Early
Childhood Care and Education: Law, Policy and Practices” explains how
the quality ECCE helps to reduce the dropout rates, wastage and stagnation etc
at primary stages. The book explores about the 86th Constitutional Amendment
Act of 2002 and examines the subject in relation to present legal policy environment
pertaining to the early childhood care and education in India.
This book enlightens about the relevance of qualitative early childhood care
and education in various developed as well as developing countries of the world.
The author has presented the ECCE system of United States of America, United
Kingdom, Australia, China, France, Switzerland, Canada, Spain, Brazil, Indonesia,
Thailand, Philippines and Arab countries and reviews about their existing policies,
programs from a comparative point of view. It also explains about the requirement
of a legal framework on ECCE and statutory backup to Article 45 of the Constitution
of India.
About the Author:
Dr. Amaresh Chandra Sahoo (b.1976) studied in the L.N. College, Patakura and
passed with Political Science (H). He secured first class in M.A. in Political
Science from the Ravenshaw College, Cuttack in 2002. He completed his post graduation
in Journalism and Mass Communication, three years LLB and completed his PhD
on Political Science from the Ravenshaw University. Being an essayist and columnist,
he had authored many articles on Early Childhood Care and Education & the
Holistic Development of the Child, Qualitative Early Childhood Care and Education,
Gandhian Sarvodaya and its relevance in present context, Child Protection System
in India, Right to Food Security Act, Free Legal Aid Movement in India, PIL
promoting judicial activism in India, Awareness can stop child marriage in scheduled
areas of Odisha, Good Governance in India and many more. Presently he is teaching
in the Department of Political Science, Capital Law College, Bhubaneswar (Odisha).
