About the Book:
The present volume analyzes and evaluates the socio-political and philosophical
ideas of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It contains twenty-six articles covering the various
facet of Ambedkar’s thoughts - his social and philosophical thoughts;
ideas on economic development; role in framing of Indian constitution; thoughts
on women rights and fundamental human rights; Ambedkar’s Neo Buddhism;
contributions for the upliftment of downtrodden; thoughts on the contemporary
Indian politics; vision on empowerment of women and suppressed communities;
impact of his ideas in Indian political thoughts and social change and so on.
This volume will fulfill the needs of the readers and will bring considerable
light on the concepts and ideas of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and his multi-faceted personality
in the modern world.
About the Editor:
Binay Barman is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of
History, Saldiha College, Saldiha, Bankura, West-Bengal, India. He has completed
a U.G.C. sponsored Minor Research Project. He is associated with many notable
historical associations of the Indian History Congress, North East India History
Association, Paschim Banga Itihas Samsad. His various research works have been
published in several reputed National and International journals. Mr. Barman
was also awarded “Dadhi Mohanta Social Science Research Award” from
Asom Sahitya Sabha Cinnamara College Branch on 2014.
